Two Kenyans are currently plying their trade in the Oman Professional League.

Former Gor Mahia Youth forward Josphat Lopaga was on target for his Omani side Dhofar SC in the 4-1 win over Oman Club while Brian Mandela missed Mamelodi Sundowns' barren draw against Cape Town City FC.

Josphat Lopaga

The former AFC Leopards forward opened his account in Oman, a month after joining the side as they cruised to a 4-1 win over Oman Club in Omani Professional League.

Lopaga joined the club in late February as he was joined by compatriot and former Gor Mahia defender Alphonce Omija in the move to the record Oman champions.

Dhofar posted a blistering start to the game and opened the scoring after 13 minutes courtesy of a well-struck penalty by Wilmerson.

Oman Club's defensive frailties cost them again as they conceded a second penalty which was dispatched by Abdullah Fawaz in the 26th minute.

Dhofar picked up from where they left off in the second half as they put the game beyond Oman Club in the 53rd minute through that man again Wilmerson.

Three minutes later, Lopaga stepped up to notch his first goal for the club and drilled the final nail in the Omani Club coffin.

Omani Club bagged their consolation goal with a minute left on the clock courtesy of Majeed Al-Balushi as Dhofar collected three vital points.

Brian Mandela

Kenyan international Brian Mandela missed the match-day squad as newly crowned league champions Mamelodi Sundowns settled for a barren draw against Cape Town City.

The former Tusker FC defender is yet to feature for Sundowns since his international duty with Harambee Stars where Kenya lost 2-1 to Iran and earned praise from his head coach Rulani Mokwena before their Champions League clash against Cottonsport.

"Brian Onyango was representing Kenya against Iran, he arrived last night and we had discussions abt his performance & I watched his game, and I gave him feedback, I think he was very good against a team that was in the World Cup," said Rulani.
