Yanga have started the season on fire, scoring 15 goals in just their last three games across all competitions.

Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho has opened up on the winning factor at his side Young Africans (Yanga) this season.

Yanga have started the season on fire, scoring 15 goals in just their last three games across all competitions.

"It's about the tactics from the coach (Angel Miguel Gamondi); he gives us the freedom to play," Aucho told the club TV before adding.

"But he stresses that we have to relax and move the ball faster; that way, we tire the opponents easily."

"If you notice, we score more goals in the second half because we engage another gear our opponents can't contain," noted Aucho.

Asked about this season's targets for the club, the combative midfielder emphasized that the target remains doing better than last season,

"Our target is to do better than last season. If we keep performing well, we will keep the fans happy, and we like it when they're happy," Aucho added before rallying them again.

"I urge all our fans to continue coming to the games in large numbers; we need them to motivate us."

The Jangweni street-based giants started with a 2-0 win against Djibouti ASAS in the CAF Champions League first-round preliminary round before sealing it with a 5-1 win in the return leg to progress 7-1 on aggregate.

They then thrashed KMC FC and JKT FC in the Tanzania Premier League by 5-0. Next up for the side is Al Merrikh in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round.

A win on aggregate would earn them a ticket to the group stages for the first time since 1998. Young Africans have won back-to-back domestic trebles in Tanzania.
