"We know it won't be easy against NEC because they are in the top five," assistant head coach Issa Sserwanja told the club media.

Uganda Premier League leaders Kitara FC will revisit their title charges with a visit to NEC FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo floodlights on Thursday.

Kitara narrowly beat NEC 1-0 in the first round in Masindi, courtesy of Jude Semugabi and they will be keen for a double.

The Royals failed to master victory in their most recent game, drawing 0-0 with runners-up BUL FC last week.

"We know it won't be easy against NEC because they are in the top five," assistant head coach Issa Sserwanja told the club media.

"But, we are prepared for the game and we want all three points because it will mean a lot to us."

Even with the stalemate, Kitara stayed top with 44 points, four ahead of BUL after 22 games.

On the other hand, NEC suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wakiso Giants FC, courtesy of Kenneth Kimera's sole strike.

The Diehards dropped to fifth with 37 points, and are seven adrift of Kitara at the apex.
