Flying Eagles go top of Group D
Their opening game of the tournament had seen them come from a goal down to defeat debutants Dominican Republic, 2-1, although Italy, going top of Group D after trumping Brazil to a 3-2 win.
Following Wednesday's win, the Flying Eagles now dethrone Italy to go top of their group, with the other reward, being a place in the last 16.
Reacting to the win, Nigerians took to social media to praise head coach Ladan Bosso, as well as the players for their impressive performance at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.
