Despite sitting in a decent position for promotion into the Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League side Mbale Heroes FC and head coach Asaph Mwebaze have moved separate ways.

The versed tactician had joined the Eastern giants seven months back in September 2023, has called it quits.

”Mbale FCand my self have mutually agreed to part ways," Asaph Mwebaze disclosed.

Mbabazi's departure follows his side's 1-1 stalemate with Lugazi FC, with the latter striking late in the game to earn a point.

The latter's goal sparked rage from a section of Mbale Heroes, who verbally assaulted and almost beat up on Mbabazi.

The fans turned against the former Soltilo Bright Stars FC and Onduparaka FC coach, blaming him for the dropped points.

"It has been a great experience with great expectations. Club is in a healthy position to attain promotion," Mbabazi added.

As he exits the club, Mbale Heroes sit third on the 15-team log with 35 points, which is the same tally as runners-up Lugazi FC.

“Thanks to the team, Chris Omony, Badru Chemisito,Wamududa, Madam Jessica, Magambo and Technical staff," Mbabazi added in a show of gratitude.

They lie five points adrift of leaders Police FC, who are on 40 with nine matches to the end of the campaign.
