The team’s success last season was largely attributed to their home form at Bugolobi, but Mbalangu says that they can carry the same form to Lugogo.

Coach Hussein Mbalangu believes that NEC FC will turn the MTN Omondi Stadium into a fortress as they seek to make their debut in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The league newcomers decided to shift their base from the Bugolobi Coffee grounds to Lugogo this season.

The team’s success last season was largely attributed to their home form at Bugolobi, but Mbalangu says that they can carry the same form to Lugogo.

“We have quality time when we train from there [Lugogo] and believe that we can turn it into a fortress as well. The same vibe that was at Bugoolobi will be transferred to Lugogo.,” he told Pulse Sports.

Mbalangu believes that the team has done good business in the transfer season and is confident they will do just more than fight for survival.

“We added several faces that are used to the premier league because the demands of the two leagues are a bit different,” he added.

NEC will kick off the Uganda premier league season with a clash against Mbarara City at Kakyeka Stadium.
