Their final matches of the season will see Dogo's side attempt to save themselves from relegation by defeating Plateau United, Nasarawa United and Remo Stars.

Kwara United head coach Kabiru Dogo has made excuses for his side's 3-1 defeat to Akwa United in week 15 of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

A defeat on Monday meant that the Harmony Boys have now failed to win any of their last five league matches.

NPFL is a very tough league, Dogo says

Reacting to his side's tough time this season, Dogo made excuses for his team, adding that their focus was their next fixture.

"We are not playing at our home ground, and the exit from the CAF Confederation Cup is still affecting them. The most important thing now is that we manage to survive," Dogo said after Monday's defeat.

"It's a very tough league, and not playing at your home ground is difficult, just like Nasarawa United and Rangers that are struggling.

"The main thing is to finish well and then focus on the next season. The most important thing is to focus on our next game, today's own is finished."

Kwara United three points off Group A relegation

With three fixtures to the end of the 2023 regular season, the Harmony Boys are 8th in Group A and three points off relegation places.
