Victor Osimhen is prepared to shun other clubs to stay at Napoli
Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has poured cold water on rumours linking him with a move away from current club Napoli by saying that he is happy to stay in Naples as he is already at one of the biggest clubs at the moment.
Osimhen leading Napoli to historic season
The Partenopei striker has scored 25 goals and assisted five more in 30 games across all competitions for Napoli and is leading the charge for one of the most successful campaigns in the club’s history.
Napoli have all but secured the 2022/23 Serie A title, with a 14-point gap over Lazio in second place with only eight games to go.
They have also reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in Napoli history.
Despite a slender first-leg loss against AC Milan without Osimhen, Napoli still have a good chance of making the semifinals if they win the second leg when they welcome the Nigerian back into the fold.
Osimhen happy to stay at Napoli despite interest from top clubs
Osimhen’s part in Napoli’s successful season has led to speculation about his future at the club with top clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich circling the Super Eagles forward with a view to a summer move.
However, Osimhen has recently said he is not thinking about a move away from Napoli at the moment, as he feels at home in the City and believes the club is the best fit for his career at the moment.
Speaking ahead of Napoli’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal semifinal against Milan, Osimhen said he was happy with the love he was receiving from the fans, and was eager to wrap up the Scudetto win and celebrate with the fans in Naples.

“The affection from the city is extraordinary, I have never received so much love,” Osimhen said, continuing, “I can’t wait to celebrate with them at the stadium.”
“I’m at a great club and my career is growing constantly. I am already at one of the biggest clubs and I could not ask for more. Forza Napoli always!”
Osimhen’s comments might not be enough to persuade suitors to stop pursuing him, as teams who are willing to pay €150 million are unlikely to be dissuaded by his latest comments.
