Former Uganda Cranes midfielder Ibrahim Saddam Juma has broken his silence on the new technical team his former club KCCA FC has set up ahead of the new league season coming up.

The former KCCA FC midfielder, currently in Nanjing, China, working with the Juventus Academy, appreciated the Lugogo-based side for creating a strength and conditioning department, which needs to be improved.

"Great step @KCCAFC in appointing the strength and conditioning coach, making sure the player's pathway and game grows, but again we need to go back to the basics as a nation," Saddam tweeted.

"We need to start from the grassroots in making sure the players and coaches are knowledgeable about the game and the methods of teaching the four pillars: Technical, Tactical, physical and mental."

The KCCA FC head coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil, confirmed his backroom staff, which includes his assistant Luis Manuel Correira and the strength and Conditioning coach, Eduardo Lazaro Ramon Leiva.

Eduardo, a Cuban national who penned a two-year contract, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in physical therapeutic culture and rehabilitation.

Eduardo also holds a Masters degree in physical therapeutic culture and rehabilitation and licenses in physical culture, therapeutic massage and physiotherapy.

The other backroom staff members include Jackson Magera, who returns to the club as first-team head coach, Moses Oloya, who remains the goalkeeper coach, and Saka Mpiima, the Junior team head coach.

Ivan Ssewanyana retains his club doctor role, the same as Tusuubira Emmanuel, who remains the club's Physiotherapist, and Ayobo Felix, the fitness coach.

What is Strength and Conditioning?

Strength and conditioning (S&G) in sports is a deliberate practice focusing on several key human performance attributes, including speed, agility, endurance, power, stability and flexibility.

In the 2021 league season, Express FC claimed the league and the CECAFA Kagame Cup. Still, the success was widely attributed to the then strength and Conditioning coach Helen Buteme, a graduate of Leipzig University.
