Twice already, the stadium has gone dark as NEC FC played each of Wakiso Giants FC and URA FC in the Uganda Premier League this campaign, painting an unpleasant image.

KCCA FC and NEC FC home, the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, was cleared to host night games towards the start of the campaign.

While the lighting quality is a lot better than it was at the end of last season, there have been power shutdowns and blackouts in the middle of action.

Twice already, the stadium has gone dark as NEC FC played each of Wakiso Giants FC and URA FC in the Uganda Premier League this campaign, painting an unpleasant image.

As URA prepares to take on KCCA at the same venue later today, the former's head coach, David Obua, has sent a stern message to the management to sort out the technical glitches.

"I remember when we played NEC at Lugogo, the lights went out and the CAF rules are there, and I questioned the referees about how many minutes you have to take when the lights are off," Obua said ahead of the KCCA game.

"But they know what they have to do. Speak to Anisha Muhoozi (KCCA CEO) and her crew there; they have to sort those floodlights out," he added.

"That's the Phillip Omondi Stadium. They have to give it respect, and they got the technicians to work on those lights, and people should enjoy good football."

Meanwhile, Obua is braced for a competitive encounter against one of the best tacticians in the country in Abdallah Mubiru.

"The boys are ready for the game. Let's try to play some good football, and I know Abdallah (Mubiru) will come with some pressure; let's enjoy the game," Obua said.

"We want that victory (the first on the road for Obua). We want to play well, and to get a point or win away from home, you have to deserve it."

"We want to play exciting football but also give KCCA a good challenge," Obua noted.

It should be noted that URA has a superior head-to-head record over KCCA, with the former winning 12 of their previous 26 matches, compared to the latter's seven with as many stalemates.
