Dhata shot into the limelight after captaining Buddo SS to an unprecedented school double at the National Post Primary Championship and the East Africa Secondary Schools Football titles in 2018.

South Sudan international Joseph Dhata has signed a two-year deal as coach Hussein Mbalangu aims to build a formidable squad for the 2023 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

The team parted ways with a number of key players and has been on a recruiting spree that has lured Dhata.

“We are thrilled to announce the signing of South Sudanese international Joseph Dhata to our ranks,” NEC announced the signing.

Their head coach, Mbalangu, told Pusle Sports that he has been tasked to strengthen a team that will put up a show in the league.

“We trimmed the squad and remained with players who we believe will lift us up and are signing those that will give us that experience and push,” Mbalangu told Pulse Sports.
