BUL have failed to win a game in the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and will be facing a side that is battling relegation.

BUL will want to end their seven-match winless run on Friday in the Startimes Uganda Premier League with a win over their Jinja City rivals Busoga United when they pay them a visit at the Kakindu Stadium.

The reigning Stanbic Uganda Cup holders have been under fire since the year started failing to win any of their seven league games.

The situation worsened last week when they lost to FUFA big League side Police in the Cup.

Their goalkeeper Saidi Keni and assistant coach Dan Kabale acknowledge in unison that the situation has affected the players psychologically but hope that changes on Friday.

“We had put it in the mind that we’re performing poorly but the coaches have tried to work on that by psyching us up,” Keni revealed.

“The coaches have shaped our minds ready for the game and we call our fans to come in numbers and support us,” he rallied.

The last time the team played from around, they lost to Express in Njeru, a match that saw a section of the fans come up in arms against the “ballooning number of coaches” that sit on the team’s bench.

BUL is fourth on the table with 30 points, eight away from their city rivals, who sit in the last safe place.

Busoga, who enjoy a bigger fanbase in Jinja, especially at Kakindu, will hope to use that advantage to take the ball to their neighbours in a bid to stretch their gap with Blacks Power in the relegation zone to six points.

BUL won the reverse fixture 2-0.

“We don’t have the luxury to choose which match is easier and which one is hard; our duty is to play every other game like a final,” Busoga United’s head coach Vincent Vincent Lukyamuzi noted earlier.
