Manchester United have reportedly identified their number-one summer target as new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe eyes rebuild.

Manchester United are keen on making a summer move worth up to £75 million for Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite.

Despite limited experience with 31 league appearances for Everton over the past two seasons, the 21-year-old defender has impressed United scouts and manager Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United desperate to land Branthwaite

Although Ten Hag's future remains unclear, after a disappointing second season in charge, United will push ahead with a bid for Branthwaite, even if the Dutch tactician is sacked.

Amid stricter financial fair play rules, Ratcliffe aims to invest in younger, home-grown talents, ensuring maximum returns for United.

According to Mirror Football, Raphael Varane's expected departure and uncertainties around Harry Maguire's future, have forced United to eye central defensive reinforcement.

Branthwaite, a highly sought-after young talent, is attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid, and Manchester City and will certainly be one to keep an eye on as the transfer window opens.
