“I truly believe that BUL FC can win whatever there is to win in this country, and I am committed to continue working hard to see this become a reality.”

Massively versed goalkeeper Tom Ikara has put pen paper on a new two-year employment contract with Uganda Premier League leaders BUL FC, keeping him at the club until at least June 2026.

Ikara, who joined the Oil Manufacturers from Police FC in 2022, has been outstanding, especially this season, as he has kept six shutouts in 13 UPL games.

The 26-year-old had made his intentions clear, asserting his hunger for glory with the Abbey Kikomeko-coached side.

“It has been a privilege to spend almost two years at this club, and the chance to continue my career at BUL FC is a genuine honour," Ikara told the club media.

"Since I arrived here, my career has taken a great path, and my progress is clearly visible. Now my future is sorted; all I want is to help this team achieve and win trophies that we can win together.”

Last season, Ikara played just six times in the league, but he has now cemented the number-one spot ahead of Joel Mutakubwa.

“As one of the goalkeepers here, I surely want to repay the club for all of the care that they have shown me during the good times and the bad and for all the trust they have in me, and that means playing well consistently and winning games for the team,”

Headed into the second round this week, BUL sit top of the log with 33 points, three ahead of runners-up Vipers SC.

“I truly believe that BUL FC can win whatever there is to win in this country, and I am committed to continue working hard to see this become a reality.”

BUL open their second round with an away trip to the MTN Omondi Stadium Stadium against 13-time champions KCCA FC.
