Victor Boniface and Bayer Leverkusen faced a difficult test against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Nigeria’s Victor Boniface is back among the goals in the Bundesliga as Bayer Leverkusen lost their 14-game winning streak against Borussia Dortmund.

Boniface scored the decisive equaliser to Leverkusen come from behind to share the spoils following a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

After a run of five matches without a goal in the Bundesliga, the 22-year-old found the target for Die Werkself in a difficult day at the office.

Boniface and his Leverkusen teammates were forced to dig deep after an early lead from the visitors courtesy of Julian Ryerson’s fifth minute opener to silence the home support at Bay Arena.

Ryerson’s opener was the first time the home side had conceded first in the Bundesliga since September and were 11 minutes away from a first defeat of the season.

Dominant as expected, Patrik Schick combined with Boniface for an easy leveller in the 79th minute of the game to ensure both sides shared the spoil.

The Nigerian striker had scored earlier on in the game but it was ruled out for offside before he finally got his goal late on.

It was Boniface’s goal in the Bundesliga since October 8, when he netted in a 3-0 win over Koln.
