Jose Peseiro believes the Super Eagles can add another AFCON title to Nigeria's trophy cabinet.

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has discussed the chances of his team winning another African Cup of Nations trophy.

The Portuguese tactician is convinced that his side has enough in their arsenal to deliver Nigeria's first continental title in over a decade.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in a very tight group A, with the likes of Côte d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guine-Bissau.

Nigeria would be aiming to claim another African Cup of Nations trophy, with the last coming in 2013 when the late Stephen Keshi led Nigeria to glory, defeating Burkina Faso 1-0 in Johannesburg.

During an exclusive interview with the SkySports, Jose Peseiro said, "We can win it. The players know it. They come with the same energy, the same belief, to fight for the Super Eagles."

Osimhen can make the difference - Peseiro

The former Real Madrid assistant coach believes that anything is possible with in-form Napoli striker Victor Osimhen leading the line for the Super Eagles.

"With Victor Osimhen around, anything is possible," Jose Peseiro stated.

Nigeria has an abundance of big-game players in their ranks - Victor Osimhen helped Napoli to a first Scudetto win since Diego Maradona.

Victor Boniface is one of the top goalscorers in the German Bundesliga, while Taiwo Awoniyi helped Nottingham Forest escape relegation last season.

Haruna Lookman is banging in the goals in Serie A, and Samuel Chukwueze's great form for Villarreal last time out saw AC Milan dole out the cash for his services.

Winning AFCON would be challenging - Peseiro admits

However, Jose Peseiro has admitted that his team has some challenges. He said his side must be at their very best to stand any chance of winning because other African countries won't be a walk in the park.

"The main goal is to win the AFCON. We will need to be at our maximum because we know that there is good opposition. There is Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana and Ivory Coast. But we believe we can do it. I believe. And the players believe."

The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia on Friday during an international friendly, with the African team ending a run of three consecutive wins.

It was evident that the goalkeeping department remains a major concern for the three-time AFCON champions.

Francis Uzoho's horler gifted Saudi Arabia a goal in a game Nigeria thoroughly controlled.

The Super Eagles rallied back, courtesy of a glorious strike from Kelechi Iheanacho, which put Nigeria 2-1 up, but a late freekick from the Green Falcons earned them a draw.
