This website understands that the KCCA FC board has zeroed down to four former club players and coaches to retake the reigns at Lugogo.

“The club will have a coach before the start of the season,” a source from Lugogo told Pulse Sports.

“The board is yet to make up their minds, but they are talking to the candidates, and they will make the announcement once they have decided,” the source added.

The KCCA FC board is torn between getting a coach who will get them instant results and a coach who will concentrate on building a project that will dominate for some time.

Mike Mutebi achieved that between 2015 and 2021, although the success was short-lived. Mubiru is another whose track record proves that he can manage a project provided he is supported.

Ssimbwa is result oriented, and the hunger for success might be why the KCCA FC board badly wants him at Lugogo; they have yet to win silverware since the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2019.

Little can be said about Mayanja, a true club legend in his playing days but has struggled to prove his prowess in the dugout, especially at Lugogo in his last two stints.
