The trio will be part of at least a 20-man squad of former Ugandan rugby players who will participate in the Uganda Vs Kenya Legends game slated for May 27th at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.

When did you last watch Uganda Rugby legends Allan Musoke, Alex Mubiru, Brian Tabaruka or Edmund Tumusime on one side? That's right, a while ago, well, say no more.

The trio will be part of at least a 20-man squad of former Ugandan rugby players who will participate in the Uganda Vs Kenya Legends game slated for May 27th at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.

Allan Musoke, a former wing for the Kobs and national rugby team (7s and 15s), told Pulse Sports the Legends game offers a lot, especially for current rugby players.

"We want to get back on to the field and battle with former rugby greats, and maybe some of the current rugby players will learn a thing or two; the veterans' skills are nice to learn," Musoke noted.

"For me, it's a way to blend the former and current generations, an opportunity to share the pitch with fellow compatriots who love to grow the game," he added.

The project is not a one-off, according to Musoke, who adds that the plan is to grow the project to even the 7s tours.

"We intend to grow the veteran's portfolio even to attend the Dubai and Hongkong 7s tours."

Adrian Bukenya, Pirates chairman Daniel Canowira, Heathens head coach Mohmmad Athiyo, Brian Tabaruka, Victor Wadiya and Herbert Wafula are some of the vets on Team Uganda's list.

Kenya's summoned 25-man squad includes Uganda's tormentors at the height of the Uganda/ Kenya rugby rivalry both in the 7s and XIs.

Players like Alvin Asego, Leonard K'opondo, Victor Sudi, Andrew Amonde, Michael Mwanja and Humprey Kayange, who stood out in the sevens version of the game, will grace the match. Oscar Osir, a former player, too, will coach the team.
