Afrobeats finds the fast lane as three Nigerian stars rev up the soundtrack for the most anticipated racing film of the year.

Afrobeats giant Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, and Obongjayar have been announced as part of the high-octane soundtrack for 'F1' – the Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures blockbuster set for global release on 27 June 2025.

The news, confirmed by Atlantic Records and shared via F1’s official website and Rolling Stone, cements Afrobeats' soaring influence on global pop culture.

The film, starring Brad Pitt as veteran driver Sonny Hayes, and Damson Idris as rookie sensation Joshua Pearce, is directed by Top Gun: Maverick helmer Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer as well as seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

Burna Boy’s contribution, a new track titled Don't Let Me Drown, marks another major milestone for the Grammy-winning artist, known globally for his 2022 anthem Last Last.

As one of the most streamed African musicians of all time, his presence on the album underscores the genre’s growing global dominance.

He’s not alone in flying the Nigerian flag.

A star-powered soundtrack to match a turbocharged movie

F1: The Album was curated by soundtrack maestro Kevin Weaver – the Grammy-winning producer behind Barbie: The Album, The Greatest Showman, and Suicide Squad

He’s joined by Atlantic Records’ Brandon Davis and Joseph Khoury, with executive producers Kosinski and Bruckheimer lending their own cinematic stamp to the musical rollout.

As part of the promotional build-up, an exclusive F1: The Album immersive experience is taking over the Miami Grand Prix paddock this weekend, featuring movie memorabilia, racing simulators and sneak previews of the soundtrack in a real-life replica of the fictional APXGP garage.

The soundtrack is now available for pre-order and will officially release alongside the film on June 27.
