The Super Falcons now have backing from the government, according to a statement by Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President.

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, a Nigerian politician and current first lady of Nigeria, has given the Super Falcons the task of winning the FIFA Women's World Cup finals taking place in Australia and New Zealand.

Remi Tinubu encouraged the Super Falcons to work hard so they could live up to Nigerians' expectations while drumming up support for the team and pointing out how important a unifying sport was for the nation.
