Here are the reasons the Brazil international is at the top of thoughts, on the tip of lips, and towering on the trend table.

Vinicius was subject to racist abuse AGAIN

Carlo Ancelotti's men were 1-0 losers to Valencia, but the biggest takeaway from the match was the treatment the Brazilian was subjected to by the spectators.

The winger identified his abuser and alerted the referee, but the stop led to an altercation between the victim and Valencia's Hugo Duro.

Los Che's forward was seen to have Vinicius in a headlock before the Madrid man retaliated, leading him to be given his marching orders.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with several football personalities and journalists coming to his defence and hitting at Spanish football.

Vinicius criticises LaLiga

The incident at the Mestalla is not the first time the player has been on the receiving end of such abuse. Vini has received racist treatment at multiple stadiums, and LaLiga has filed multiple reports with Spanish prosecution against the culprits.

However, nothing seems to have changed, and the forward took to social media to pen a statement.

"It wasn't the first time, not the second time, not the third. Racism is normal in La Liga. The competition is normal, the Federation also and the opponents encourage.

"I'm sorry. The championship that was once Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi today is the racists. A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and whom I love, but which accepted to export the image to the world of a racist country.

"I am sorry for the Spaniards who do not agree, but today, in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. And unfortunately, for everything that happens each week, I have no way to defend. I agree.

"But I am strong and I will go all the way against the racists. Even if far from here."

Tebas hits at Vinicius

Tebas tweet reads as follows:

“Since those who should not explain to you what it is and what it can do @LaLiga in cases of racism, we have tried to explain it to you, but you have not shown up for either of the two agreed dates that you requested yourself. Before criticising and insulting @LaLiga."

It is necessary that you inform yourself properly @Vinijr Do not let yourself be manipulated, and make sure you fully understand each other's competencies and the work we have been doing together.

The administrator, who has been in the news a lot recently for the league's stringent financial measures and his public war of words with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, was turned on by fans of the league, especially the fans of the two most followed clubs in the league, Cules and Madridstas.
