Super Eagles prospect Gift Orban is attracting interest from top European clubs ahead of the 2023 summer transfer window.
Orban has been one of the revelations of the 2022/2023 football season despite only playing less than six months of top-flight football.
Orban's breakout year
The 20-year-old was playing second-division football before joining Belgian club Gent in January.
Orban has taken to his new surrounding like a fish inside water and has gone to make a name for himself.
The Nigerian youngster has taken both the Belgian League and Europe by storm, scoring 21 goals and setting up another two in 21 games.
Orban has 15 goals in the Belgian league and another six in the UEFA Europa Conference League in less than six months.
His impressive performances have now caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs, who are ready to pounce this summer.
Orban on English, French and German clubs radar
According to respected Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Burnley have enquired about the services of Orban, with Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt also interested.
The same journalist also claimed that Turkish champions Galatasaray had a 15M€ bid for Orban turned down by Gent.
Meanwhile, Ligue 1 club Lille are also reportedly ready to make a move for Orban should Jonathan David leave this summer.
However, Gent are likely to resist any attempt from potential suitors as Orban’s contract runs until 2027.
