Wonderkid Gift Orban was caged for the first time in four matches as Gent continued their unbeaten streak in Belgium.

Gent’s quest to make it back to Europe next season is going to plan following a comfortable 3-1 win at Westerlo on Saturday night.

Nigeria’s Orban was on the pitch for 72 minutes but fired blanks against the host who did well to keep him quiet.

The 20-year-old came into the game on the back of a hot streak that had seen him score five goals in his previous four matches.

However, he was able to show his creative side this time during his over an hour on the pitch at the Het Kuipje.

Orban created two chances, made two key passes and attempted just one shot all through his time on the pitch before he was subbed off.

His partner in crime, Hugo Cuypers stole the show this time with one goal and assist in another outstanding performance by the Belgian for Gent.

After the win, Gent stay top of the Europa Conference League qualification group with 41 points, eight clear of Cercle Brugge in second.

Westlo stay rooted at the bottom of the table with the latest defeat.
