World Record holder Tobi Amusan has called out the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) over inferior kits given to athletes for the Tokyo 2025 World Championships.

The hurdling queen posted a series of videos on her Snapchat and even captioned one of them with a threat to dump Nigeria. "Abeg which country dey find athletes?"

Amusan, who's set to represent Nigeria in her fourth consecutive world championships in Tokyo, expressed her disappointment over the incompetence and lackadaisical attitude of the AFN towards athletes, and even referenced in support of athletes choosing to dump Nigeria for other countries, saying: "And una kan say make they no switch allegiance?".

The kits displayed by Amusan showed the inferiority compared to other countries, as they aren't even training worthy, let alone for a major championship at the world's biggest athletics stage.

Noteworthy is that Nigeria has yet to secure a major kit sponsorship deal in over five years, ever since the Puma deal capsized due to AFN's mismanagement.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, American-owned brand Actively Black kitted all Nigerian athletes, but apparently, the partnership didn't extend beyond the games.

The Tokyo 2025 World Championships is scheduled from Saturday, September 13 - 21, and Nigeria will be represented by 15 athletes in different events.
