“The National Executive Committee hereby appoints Ms. Caroline Walusaga, one of our co-opted members, as the Acting Secretary General.”

Walusaga joined the club in June 2022 and was co-opted into the NEC alongside Diana Kusa and is a seasoned human resource and administration manager.

Their appointments were aimed at aligning the committee with the one-third gender rule stipulated in the club’s constitution.

According to the same rule, if gender representation is not achieved through elections, the NEC is allowed to co-opt members to meet the threshold.

Walusaga will serve in an acting capacity alongside Chairman Dan Shikanda and Treasurer Oliver Napali until the end of the current term.

The club is expected to hold elections next month, with Sunday, 29 June, set as the tentative date.
