An excellent swimmer and a born diver — Mourinho slams ex-Barcelona and Chelsea star for antics in Lazio clash
AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has blasted former Barcelona and Chelsea star Pedro after a diving incident in the game against Lazio.
Mourinho called out Pedro who helped Lazio earn a share of the spoils after a goalless draw in the derby della Capitale in the Serie A on Sunday.
Mourinho slams Pedro
The Roma boss and his club faced nemesis Maurizio Sarri, with both managers looking to improve the performances of their respective teams.
As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, this particular fixture turned out to be a barren affair, with little to separate either of the teams at the Stadio Olimpico.
Both managers failed to live up to their pre-match talks which saw either have a go at the other before the game.
However, after the less inspiring encounter, Mourinho had a lot to say, especially of Lazio forward, Pedro.
Speaking in his post-match pre-conference, the 60-year-old was clearly not impressed with Pedro's antics during the game.
“I didn’t want to leave Mancini alone with Pedro,” Mourinho said after the match according to Roma Press.
“I needed Karsdorp to stay and help him.”
“Pedro is a fantastic player but he is a born diver, an excellent swimmer,” he added. “He dives into the pool just beautifully.”
Mourinho’s Roma fail again
Meanwhile, the result against Lazio saw Mourinho and his Roma side fail to impress again as they extended their winless streak.
Roma suffered a defeat in Europe in mid-week to Ogbu’s Slavia Prague in the UEFA Europa League, UEL and were looking to bounce back against their rivals in the League.
However, the barren draw means Roma have now taken just a point from their last two matches in the Serie A after losing to Inter Milan the last time.
