In football, the pressure to perform and secure a spot on the national team is ever-present. Players like Dessers know that every goal and every match can be a chance to impress the decision-makers.

While the Super Eagles boast an impressive array of talents, the former Feyenoord forward is looking to play his way back into Nigerian national football.

Ahead of the double-header between Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the FIFA World Cup qualifier this month, the question is, has Dessers done enough to earn a recall to the Super Eagles? Only time will tell.
