‘Arrest him for match fixing’ - Fans call for Onana’s imprisonment despite Amorim’s defence

Onana was at fault for the first goal after he failed to deal with a free kick and also conceded an equaliser with the last kick of the game.

However, he has received support from Ruben Amorim despite his mistake during the Europa League draw against Lyon.

Amorim backs Onana

Amorim has backed the Cameroon international after his howler against Lyon, with the team settling for a draw. 

According to Daily Mail, he said, “I’m really confident in Andre. It can happen. If you play football, you play a lot of games and you can make mistakes.

“If you look at the season, I make more mistakes than them during these last games and these last months.

“There’s nothing I can say to Andre in this moment. I didn’t see him, to be honest with you. I use these minutes to try to calm down, to come here to say the right things. It’s normal.”

Andre Onana has endured a difficult spell at Manchester United.

Fans took to social media to vent their frustration, with one saying, “Arrest him for match fixing.”

Manchester United will take the 2-2 draw to Old Trafford for the second leg as they look to qualify for the semifinals.
