Arteta praises Zubimendi and other Arsenal new signings in Forest thrashing
The Gunner picked up maximum points, having defeated Forest 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.
A brace from Martin Zubimendi and Gyokeres, scoring his third goal of the Premier League campaign, was enough to win the game for Arteta's side.
What Arteta said
After the game, Mikel Arteta commented on Arsenal's convincing victory against Nottingham Forest in their Premier League.
"It was a very good performance after the international break. The players were away for a long time, which always raises doubts about whether we can play as a cohesive unit again. And I think we definitely did," Arteta began, as reported by Sportal.
Beyond the dominant win against a tricky opponent, the clean sheet was another positive for the London side.
"It's very important that we didn't concede a goal again. Some players were in the starting lineup for the first time, but they played very well. Overall – very good," Arteta stated.
The manager of the capital team also praised the excellent performance of Martin Zubimendi, who scored his first two goals for the 'Gunners'.
"Zubimendi scored incredible goals, completely different in their execution. His presence in the team is truly felt, as is the genuine confidence in everything he does on the pitch. And if he can add goals to that – what more could you ask for?" Arteta added.
Finally, the 'Gunners' manager was asked if his team had reached a new level, sending a clear signal to their title rivals.
"We hope so, but we have to go game by game. It doesn't matter what we want, but what we need to do. Now we need to work and assess the current situation. There are things we need to improve to score more goals and dominate more in certain phases of the game. And we have to do it match by match," Arteta concluded.
