The match, held at the Hale End academy, showcased the talent of the 16-year-old forward who is now standout figure in Arsenal's youth setup.

According to reports, Nwaneri netted three of Arsenal’s goals in the back and forth encounter.

Another key player for the Gunners academy was Joshua Sesay who added the fourth and provided an assist for one of Nwaneri's goals.

Nwaneri for his hat-trick was given the Man of the Match award and posed with it for photos that have gone viral online.

Following the result, Arsenal fans took to social media to celebrate a derby win in the academy.

It came on the same day the senior team recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest in a Premier League clash.

Emerson’s brother, Ethan Nwaneri, made an appearance for the first team as an early substitute coming on for captain Martin Odegaard in Arsenal’s win.

Like his brother, Emerson was born to an Igbo Nigerian father and an English-French mother and eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
