In a public statement, the Nigerian international said he had remained loyal to the club despite several transfer approaches in the past but believes now is the right time to move on.

“The club were clear with me that if a fair offer came in, they would allow me to move,” Lookman stated. “Despite that, they are now blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand.”

Atalanta reject Inter offer, consider measures against Lookman

Atalanta are reportedly considering disciplinary action, including a possible fine or legal action, if he misses a third day of training.

Inter Milan’s latest offer of €46 million plus a youth player was still deemed insufficient by Atalanta, who are holding firm on their €50 million valuation.

The club’s CEO Luca Percassi revealed that while Lookman was promised a move, it was under two strict conditions: the buyer must be a top European club, and he must not join another Serie A side.

Percassi added, “Today, the situation is very different… but as always, it is Atalanta that decides.” According to reports, legal consequences may follow as both sides dig in.
