Aucho to receive Shs600M in bonuses at Young Africans

Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho continues to reap from his hard work last season with Young Africans.

Aucho and the rest of the squad were on Monday rewarded by the main shirt sponsor SportPesa with a hefty bonus of Tzshs 405M, approximately Shs600M, for winning the domestic treble last season at the Serena Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania.

Hon. Tarimba Abbas the Sportpesa Board Chairman in Tanzania, expressed his gratitude towards the club and their success last season, urging them to do the same this coming season.

“We are proud to continue to be the chief sponsors of this large and successful club with strong leadership; the success achieved by this club comes from working professionally and running it the modern way,” Tarimba said.

Club President Hersi Said was on hand to appreciate Sportpesa for the bonus and promised to deliver again this season.

“We are grateful to Sportpesa for this huge financial boost; it will go a long way in helping us prepare for the new season,” Hersi noted.

‘Tiimu ya Wanainchi’ claimed a domestic treble for a second season in a row which saw Aucho featured prominently.

He had a fairytale CAF Confederation Cup run that saw the team reach its maiden final, losing to USM Alger on the away goals rule.

New head coach Angel Miguel Gamondi will be tasked with keeping arch-rivals Simba at bay again this season.

‘Daktari wa mpiira’ will be expected to link up with the Jangweni-based side later this week ahead of their training camp.

First on the calendar for Aucho and Young will be the new charity shield tournament involving four teams, including Simba, Azam FC and Singida Fountain Gate.
