Bad news for FC Barcelona: Star player sidelined longer than expected, set to miss
The young Barcelona winger missed last weekend's game against Valencia, and the latest reports indicate he might be out until the end of September, a significant blow for Hansi Flick.
Lamine Yamal kicked off the new Spanish La Liga season in spectacular fashion for Barcelona, contributing at least one goal or assist in each of his first three matches.
This impressive start made his absence from the subsequent game after the international break, due to injury, all the more concerning for fans.
Yamal's injury
According to journalist Ferran MartÃnez of Mundo Deportivo, via Sport, Lamine Yamal's absence, caused by pubic symphysis inflammation, could be prolonged. He was notably absent from the squad list for the match against Valencia, and it appears this isn't a one-off.
"The winger's participation against Getafe is highly doubtful, and it's improbable he'll feature in Oviedo.
"The most realistic scenario, exercising maximum caution given the serious nature of the injury, is his return for a few minutes in the match against Real Sociedad, although the clear objective is to be 100% ready for the clash with PSG," reported Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona's match against Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled for October 1st. If Lamine Yamal is to recover from his injury by then, he will likely have to miss up to four games in the next two weeks.
