Felix critical of Atletico Madrid and Simeone

Felix joined Barcelona on loan from Atletico Madrid on the last day of the 2023 summer transfer window after being an outcast from the Rojiblancos’ first team in the months before his departure.

The former Benfica forward also spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Premier League side Chelsea after complaining about Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s methods and tactical direction.

Felix’s major motivation for leaving the club and joining Barcelona was how he believed the Blaugrana set up to play compared to Atletico Madrid, and he has made that point crystal clear once again.

Felix calls former teammates potential liars

Speaking to ESPN ahead of Barcelona’s crucial tie against Atletico Madrid, Felix criticised Atletico Madrid’s tactics once again, saying, “For sure I prefer the style at Barcelona.

Felix went a step further to declare that even current Atletico Madrid players felt the same way, calling any Rojiblancos player who denied the preference liars.

“If you ask every player, if you ask the players from Atletico, too, they would prefer to play with more time on the attack, for sure. If they don’t answer that, they are lying,” Felix concluded.

The Portuguese forward will face his parent club for the first time since moving to Barcelona in the summer and he will be hoping to prove a point against the team that jettisoned him.
