Barcelona reaches agreement with Nico Williams for long-term contract and high salary
The winger has been on Barcelona's radar since Spain won the European tournament and is now edging closer to Camp Nou this summer.
The Spaniard is still a target for other clubs in Europe, including Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Barcelona agreed contract with Nico Williams
According to journalist Santi Aouna, via Sportal, the Spanish international and the champions have agreed on a six-season contract with a salary of €12 million.
Now, however, the Catalans face a more difficult task: raising the €62 million needed to pay the Athletic Bilbao player's release clause.
This potential transfer would follow that of goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol, for whom a release clause will also be activated – in this case, €25 million.
There were reports that Nico Williams is also currently a target for Real Madrid.
The European champion was close to joining Barca last summer but ultimately declined the move.
