Ben White: Arsenal star ready for England return after Southgate resignation

The Arsenal player unexpectedly withdrew from the England national team in March due to a rumoured disagreement with assistant coach Steve Holland.

The defender missed out on the 2024 Euros after rejecting a call-up from head coach Gareth Southgate.

There was widespread speculation that White had decided not to be considered for selection and had turned his back on the Three Lions.

With Southgate and Holland out of the picture, White is reportedly thinking about joining the team again, according to the Daily Star.

The defender and Holland had a falling out over a "pointed remark," and he departed the England camp in the middle of the tournament to head home.

A reported altercation between Holland and White during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar precipitated the dispute.

Despite being one of the most reliable full-backs in the Premier League, he was never chosen again.

It was disclosed in March that Holland's doubts about White's passion for football were the cause of their falling out.

The assistant to Southgate reportedly questioned Kyle Walker about Manchester City's results from the previous campaign before asking White the same question about Arsenal.

Holland said that White's assertion that he didn't know the answer was due to his disinterest in football.

However, with Southgate and his coaching crew gone, Ben White could consider returning to the national team.
