In an official press release, via Sportal, BKFC outlined the reasons for its decision: "BKFC values discipline, accountability, and respect for the sport, both inside and outside the ring.

"While the athlete's performance in the ring was exceptional, repeated incidents and behaviour inconsistent with the organisation's values and image necessitated this separation."

BKFC President David Feldman stated, "We have a responsibility to maintain the integrity of our organisation and the sport as a whole. Multiple violations were involved in this decision. We wish him well in his future endeavours."

BKFC remains committed to showcasing world-class fighters who embody the resilience and professionalism characteristic of bare-knuckle boxing. A decision regarding the future of the now-vacant 135-pound title will be announced soon.

One of the reported incidents involving Blas recently garnered public attention. It concerns a serious incident from 2022, in which he was arrested in Miami, Florida, on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery, and assault.

The victim was former three-time UFC title challenger and newly signed BKFC fighter Yoel Romero.

The YouTube channel Ragdoll MMA released a video on the subject, featuring an anonymous source describing the incident.

According to the video, the altercation began with a verbal dispute between Blas and Romero, which escalated and moved to the parking lot. There, Blas allegedly attempted to hit Romero with his car. After missing twice, he reportedly exited the vehicle, retrieved a sword from the trunk, and injured Romero twice – on his arm and hand.

Romero was hospitalized with a tendon injury in his hand, confirmed by multiple sources to MMAmania.com. Law enforcement was notified, and Blas was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder and assault.

Romero attended all court hearings but did not testify. Ultimately, in December 2024, Blas was acquitted by a jury on all charges.
