But what stole the show was his hilarious reaction to his outing show for Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface inspires Leverkusen again
As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, the sensational Super Eagles forward showcased his incredible talent again for his new club Leverkusen.
The 22-year-old put on an excellent creative performance to inspire Werkself to another win, with two brilliant assists.
He set up the opener and the winner before he was substituted with two minutes left to play as Leverkusen held on for the win to extend their winning streak to 10 matches across competitions.
Apart from the assists, Boniface created the most chances in the encounter, attempted just one shot, and completed two of his attempted dribbles, one of which led to the opener scored by Florian Writz.
Boniface’s funny reaction
But despite another good outing which saw the Nigeria Super Eagles striker take his assists tally to five this season, what truly caught the attention was the amusing response he had to his outstanding display.
In his post-match reaction, the two-time Bundesliga Rookie of the Month winner shared a lighthearted and amusing reaction which he has come to be known for.
“Oga I don reach END of the tunnel I no see any light for here ooo,” he posted on his official X.com account.
Translated, Boniface posted metaphorically, with a picture of him seated on the pitch and looking confused, that he found himself in a difficult situation with no clear solution in sight.
It’s not just his skills on the pitch that have made him a standout player, but also his sense of humour which has now endeared him more to fans and admirers.
Leverkusen match on
Boniface’s assists and humour apart, Leverkusen’s win against the stubborn Hoffenheim, who came from two goals down to equalise, was a collective effort.
The Xavi Alonso side displayed excellent coordination and determination to over the scare from their hosts, and the contributions from Nigeria’s Boniface were just the icing on the cake.
Bayer sit at the top of the Bundesliga table with 28 points from nine wins and a draw in 10 matches. But defending champions, Bayern Munich, are just two points behind and piling on the pressure.
