Boniface to get ex-Man United manager as Ten Hag edges closer to agreeing a deal to replace Alonso

Ten Hag was sacked from his position as the manager of Manchester United in October after a poor run of form with the team.

However, he is set to return to management after reports of Xabi Alonso joining Real Madrid next season.

Xabi Alonso's successful tenure managing Bayer Leverkusen has made him a primary candidate for Real Madrid.

According to German outlet Kicker, Erik ten Hag is reportedly the leading candidate to succeed Xabi Alonso. 

Alonso is expected to take over from Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, who will leave the club at the end of the season.

Ancelotti has been mentioned as a potential candidate for international management, with reports suggesting a 12-month agreement with the Brazilian national team.

Leverkusen's management reportedly anticipates Alonso's departure and has reportedly identified Ten Hag as their next manager.

The club is reportedly in "advanced" discussions, possibly already in agreement, with Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.
