‘Caf suppose give them award’ - Super Eagles star slams Libya’s Arteta ‘dark-art’ tactics
Bruno Onyemaechi started for the Super Eagles as a left-back and played an important role in helping the team claim the three points.
Nigeria left it late in the second half to defeat Libya 1-0 after Ademola Lookman had his goal controversially ruled out for offside.
The Mediterranean Knights appeared to be about to get a draw, but in the 86th minute, super sub-Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored the game-winning goal following a good cross from Moses Simon.
Onyemaechi slams Libya’s tactics
The Libyan players have come under fire from Onyemaechi for using a number of time-wasting strategies to slow down the game and throw off the Super Eagles' flow.
Onyemaechi posted on X after the game, "Important 3 points. Omo caf suppose give them award on wasting time”.
He also asked that the Mediterranean Knights should receive an award from the Confederation of African Football for their time-wasting.

Murad Al Wuheeshi appeared to feign an injury with the smallest touch, and Malawian referee Godfrey Nkhakananga booked him for wasting time during the match.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles coach has also slammed the Libyans time-wasting tactics used during the game.
According to Augustine Eguavoen, the Mediterranean Knights wasted up to fifteen minutes in the second half.
