After the euphoria of the intense ‘game of the season’, waned and a moment of reflection, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has come out to apologise to the match officials on the day for his post-game bust-up.
Despite their well-reported struggles this season, Pochettino’s side held Premier League champions Manchester City to a thrilling 4-4 draw. The Cityzens led on three separate occasions in the game, but each time the Blues rallied and came back into the game.

Despite the gutsy performance his team put in to earn a draw, Pochettino was not satisfied, as he thought his team had the chance to score the winner before referee Anthony Taylor abruptly ended the match.
Chelsea were in an offensive situation; Cole Palmer was on the ball and had Raheem Sterling in his sights, but Taylor blew his whistle as time was up.
Pochettino was not having it, as he skipped the traditional post-game pleasantries to charge at Anthony Taylor, yelling expletives, before he was stopped by members of his coaching staff.
Speaking after the game, however, he admitted to wrongdoing and apologized to the refereeing crew.
“I need to apologise to Anthony and the officials, because in this moment I feel Raheem can go through, and in this moment I say 'what the...'.”
