Chelsea’s £30m star finds out he’s been ‘dumped’ by his girlfriend during Club World Cup
Chelsea’s summer signing, Liam Delap, has found himself at the centre of an off-field drama over his relationship life.
According to the Daily Mail, the 22‑year‑old striker has been dumped by his Scottish model and influencer girlfriend, Leanna Paul, while away on Club World Cup duty in the U.S.
Paul, 25 and boasting almost 200,000 followers on Instagram and over 325,000 on TikTok, appears to have confirmed the end of their relationship with a cryptic Instagram Story:
“You can’t keep someone loyal by loving them harder.”
What Happened?
According to entertainment outlet Glam Set & Match, the split occurred while Delap was overseas with the squad, and that Paul dropped the relationship bombshell while he was in the U.S.
The Blues star was reportedly told over the phone that his relationship was over due to an alleged infidelity.
"She immediately blocked him as she didn’t believe the first story, but after seeing evidence of her boyfriend speaking to a girl called(…), she immediately phoned him when he was in Miami and told him that she was breaking up with him,” a source told the aforementioned outlet.
Paul’s background is more than just influencer glam.
According to her Instagram bio, she’s also a “Bachelor of Law Grad with Honours.”
Though, since news of their split emerged, the blonde beauty has restricted her Instagram account to private.
Delap’s career at Chelsea so far
Delap, who penned a £30 million move from Ipswich to Chelsea this summer, has been on a whirlwind since joining the Blues.
He took up the No. 9 shirt, once donned by club legends – and he’s registered his first goal for the Blues in a 3‑0 drubbing of Esperance Tunis in Philadelphia.
So far, Delap has made five Club World Cup appearances, starting the last four, and was due to feature in Tuesday’s semi-final against Fluminense — a match that could advance them to the final against PSG or Real Madrid.
