Chukwueze features as African stars help AC Milan secure second spot with thumping win
AC Milan's array of African talent including Nigeria's Samuel Chukwueze was the driving force as they secured second place in Serie A with an emphatic 5-1 thrashing of Cagliari.
Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze laid on the opener as his shot came off a Cagliari defender and fell for fellow African Ismael Bennacer to fire the Rossoneri ahead after 35 minutes.
Chukwueze, Africans shine
Chukwueze was then withdrawn at half-time, with his replacement Rafael Leao extending Milan's lead soon after thanks to an assist from Algerian midfielder Bennacer.
Swiss-Nigerian striker Noah Okafor also got in on the act off the bench, teeing up Christian Pulisic to complete the 5-1 scoreline late on.
The convincing victory ensures Stefano Pioli's side will finish as runners-up in the Serie A standings behind city rivals Inter.
It continues an excellent campaign for Milan's diverse crop of African stars such as Bennacer, Chukwueze and Okafor.
With Okafor, Leao and the evergreen Giroud, it's been a not-so-quiet season for Milan's multi-national frontline.
But on the night, goalscoring quality was simply too much for struggling Cagliari to handle at the San Siro.
