Don't waste money on him — Dwight Yorke warns Man Utd to stay away from ex-Arsenal striker
Dwight Yorke has emphatically cautioned Manchester United not to pursue a deal for former Arsenal striker Donyell Malen.
Yorke strongly believes that engaging in a swap deal with Borussia Dortmund, potentially involving Jadon Sancho and Malen, would be a big mistake, as Malen would not contribute to the improvement of Erik ten Hag's side.
Sancho who has not been seen in action for the club since August has been heavily linked with a move away and has also been mooted as a potential make-weight in a deal for Malen.
Manchester United's move for Malen deemed a mistake
“I have not seen much of Donyell Malen, but I know he’s scored a few goals in the Bundesliga. I have not seen enough of him to make a judgment on him, but he seems to be an alright player,” Yorke told Instant Casino.
“United can’t waste money signing players who won’t improve the squad. I’m an aspiring coach, and that is the first thing I take into consideration before I sign anyone.
“If this player doesn’t raise the level of the position he’s playing in, then the team will continue on the same path.”
