EKSU Galacticos record first victory in the Ekiti Football League

The Ekiti State University (EKSU) Football Club, the Eksu Galacticos, started the 2023 Bet9ja Ekiti football league with a win against Leo in their opener.

The 2022 runner-up kicked off the season at the football pitch of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti.

Eksu Galacticos edged past their opponent, Leo FC, with a slim lone goal.

The University boys scored in the 35th minute from Sikiru Oladipo's sublime finish to Dotun Aladejana long pass.

After the game, the university boys' coach, Babajide Coupon, claimed that the players had not used their typical strategies during the last minutes of the contest.

He said, “I don’t expect much in this match, we failed to maintain our tactics and play a balanced game instead we gave ourselves the assignment to solve in the last thirty minutes of the game, but thankfully we got the three points."

The University boys will be playing Adeyeye Adebowale on Friday for match day two encounter.
