‘Everybody go collect’ - Nigerians react to Bright Osayi mercilessly beating a fan in breakout fight

Fenerbahce’s celebratory moment turned sour as Trabzonspor supporters breached security, causing uproar at the stadium. 

This incident sheds light on the broader issue of violence troubling Turkish football since the start of the 2023/2024 season.

After the game, which saw goals from ex-Manchester United star Fred and a late winner from Michy Batshuayi, fans from Trabzonspor rushed onto the pitch to confront Fenerbahce’s players. 

Videos circulating on X captured Osayi-Samuel confronting one of the fans, throwing a punch, and knocking the person down. 

In another clip, he notices the invaders while celebrating, then confronting them and exchanging punches while a security guard intervenes.

Osayi-Samuel had to be restrained by teammates and security as the situation intensified, with one fan seen wielding a corner flag as a weapon.

Nigerians on social media did not hesitate to comment on the incident after seeing their countryman defend himself in style.

One fan said on X, “Fenerbahce fans will never forget him.”
