Ex-England striker snubs Arsenal, names the 2 clubs that will qualify for UCL final
Former England striker Gary Lineker has shared his predictions for the Champions League semi-finals.
Lineker believes Barcelona will prevail against Inter Milan in their tie, despite the thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg.
"I still fancy Barcelona, but the truth is it's impossible to predict because it'll be like Wednesday night because that's how Barcelona play home and away," Lineker said on The Rest is Football podcast.
He continued, "They'll back themselves to outscore the opposition."
He also highlighted Inter Milan's need to capitalise on their chances, commending Marcus Thuram's excellent finish in the first leg.
Lineker predicts that Barcelona will face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the final, although he admits he would rather see Arsenal advance.
He added, "I think [Barcelona vs PSG] is what it'll be – not with any great confidence. I don't think Arsenal are completely out of it, but obviously it's a tough ask for them to go there with a relatively young side."
As a supporter of English football, Lineker would love to see Arsenal face Barcelona in the final.
"I'd like to see Arsenal vs Barca, that's what I'd like to see cause I'm a supporter of English football,” he said.
With Arsenal currently the underdogs, it remains to be seen if they'll overcome the odds and reach the final for only the second time in their history.
