Nwabali's mishandling of a corner kick allowed Hlompho Kalake to score for Lesotho with just seven minutes of normal time remaining, setting up a tense finish.

Another moment of concern arose late in the match due to a mix-up involving defender Semi Ajayi.

The performance led to a backlash from some supporters, who suggested the goalkeeper was displaying overconfidence and should be dropped.
