In his ranking, Iwobi placed dodo (fried plantain) at the top, stating, “Dodo? Plantain goes with everything.”
He followed with pounded yam and egusi as a close second, referring to it as a "recovery" meal.
Jollof Rice secured the third spot, with Iwobi asserting, “You can’t go wrong with Jollof rice.”
The rest of his top five included chin chin and efo riro, while he ranked suya at seventh, commenting, “Suya should be above fufu for me.”
Iwobi's culinary enthusiasm comes on the heels of Fulham's recent Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest, where he celebrated with traditional Nigerian fufu and egusi soup.
The match, dubbed the "Snapchat Derby," saw Iwobi face off against friend and rival Ola Aina of Nottingham Forest.
Following Fulham's thrilling 2-1 win, Iwobi shared his joy on social media, expressing gratitude to his mother with the heartfelt phrase, “Mommy, God bless you ooo.”
That victory not only bolstered Fulham's league position but also highlighted Iwobi's connection to his roots and cultural pride through food.
While Iwobi’s food rankings have added a light-hearted touch to his social media presence, engaging fans in discussions about their favourite Nigerian dishes, he was unable to save his Cottagers from a 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace in their most recent match.
