“We got 3 points, 3–0. Everything is great. We must focus on our game. We scored three goals, and it’s not always easy to score three goals against a strong team,” he said.

The coach avoided dwelling on Getafe’s performance, instead stressing the need for Barcelona to continue focusing on their own plan and rhythm.

Flick underlined that the 3-0 home win was a product of discipline, execution, and efficiency in attack.

Explaining Rashford and Raphinha’s roles

The game also raised questions about Marcus Rashford starting on the bench, with the Englishman coming on after halftime despite his Champions League heroics against Newcastle.

Flick explained that squad management was key, given the packed schedule: “For Rashford, it’s normal not to play, matches are every three or four days. We have to manage his minutes.”

He also pointed out that young midfielder Fermín López had been used heavily and needed protection too.

As for Raphinha, Flick clarified that the Brazilian was substituted at halftime due to a yellow card, not performance, stressing that it was important not to risk losing him.
